Crawler Tractor/Dozer Training

Course Objectives:-

• Basic construction, names of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges
• Use of the operator’s handbook, etc
• Pre-use running checks and close-down procedure
• Preparing the dozer for site travel
• Travelling the dozer over differing types of terrain, including rough undulating ground and substantial inclines
• Manoeuvring progressing to confined spaces in a forward and reverse direction
• Precautions and actions for underground services and other hazards
• How to form stockpiles by cutting below ground
• How to cut, side-cast and spread materials using the blade at angles
• Checking the integrity and security of the load
• Spread and level stockpiles to given specifications
• Placing the dozer in an out-of-service condition
• Loading and unloading procedures on and off a transporter
• Trained operator achievement test

Novice - Ten days; Experienced - One day assessment
