Who should attend?

Any person required to enter a manhole, chamber or any vertical confined space whilst working.

Aims and Objectives

To provide theoretical and practical training for any person who may have to enter a vertical confined space.

Content:

  • Safety legislation
  • Confined space regulations
  • Confined space hazards
  • Gas detectors, Escape sets, safety harness
  • Tripod and wench,
  • Setting up equipment
  • Movement through confined spaces and escape procedures
  • Safe systems at work
  • Practical exercises
  • Written Test

Knowledge:

To enable the candidate to:

  • Define the term “Confined Space” and identify hazards associated with confined spaces
  • List the minimum safety equipment required for safe entry into a confined space
  • Demonstrate the entry, exit and emergency procedures for confined spaces
  • Prepare for, and safely enter, a confined space.

Training Method:

Classroom based tutorials balanced with practical exercises.
