Access and Working Platform Safety Awareness - (Includes Mobile Towers)

Who should attend?

All personnel involved in working in heights, and constructing and working from lightweight access towers.

Aims and Objectives

To provide delegates with a practical understanding of safe and appropriate access techniques using ladders, trestles and lightweight towers.

To enable operative, maintenance and inspection staff to safely erect, use and inspect lightweight access towers.

Content:

  • Safe Working at Heights
  • Construction (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations
  • Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Recognitions of components and their applications
  • Provision of bracing, ties, toe-boards and hand-rails
  • Selection, erection and use of hammers
  • Identification of suitable ground conditions
  • Sequence of erection and dismantling
  • Use of outriggers, sole plates and ties
  • Techniques for repositioning erect towers

 

Training Method:

A balance between practical and classroom based tutorials.
